Oxford Circus is where Oxford Street crosses Regent Street, and neither is a road anyone parks on: buses, taxis and delivery windows take the tarmac between them. The controlled zones stretch away in every direction, so driving in means borrowing a bay that belongs to somebody else.

The Central, Victoria and Bakerloo lines meet beneath the junction, and the flagship stores above them run on early deliveries and long shifts. Broadcasting House stands just up Regent Street at Langham Place; between retail and radio, plenty of people here keep hours the tube timetable does not flatter.
