Charing Cross sits on the Strand at the corner of Trafalgar Square, about as central as London gets, and the kerbs are controlled on every approach. Nobody keeps a car on the street here. What off-street parking exists is commercial, priced accordingly, and busy exactly when you need it.

Southeastern trains run from Charing Cross into Kent and southeast London, so the station draws commuters from well beyond the city. Add the National Gallery, the Strand's offices and much of Theatreland within a few streets, and the case for a private space near the concourse rather makes itself.
