Kensington and Chelsea is controlled parking from end to end, and Earls Court's grand terraces of flats hold far more households than their streets were drawn for. True off-street space, usually a garage tucked into a mews or a slot behind a stucco crescent, is rare and priced accordingly by whoever holds it.

The exhibition halls are long demolished and the site is still being rebuilt, but Earls Court keeps its hotels and its District and Piccadilly line junction. Visitors staying a few nights, and Chelsea supporters cutting through towards West Brompton, both do better with a bay booked ahead.
